Our History & Mission
The Union County Arts Council (UCAC) is proud to call one of downtown Union’s most historic buildings its home. Built in 1872, the structure has served the community in many roles over the past century and a half — from the bustling Union Hotel & Ballroom to doctors’ and dentists’ offices, and even a neighborhood pharmacy.
After extensive renovations, UCAC moved into the building in 2008, preserving its architectural character while transforming it into a vibrant, welcoming space for creativity. Today, the gallery and offices stand as a bridge between Union’s past and its artistic future.
Our Mission
UCAC is dedicated to enriching the cultural life of Union County and the surrounding region. Through classes, exhibits, performances, and community events, we work to ensure that the arts are accessible to residents of all ages and backgrounds.
