Lauren Gratenstein
“I am a Native American, Apache Artist that uses whatever is available to create like my ancestors before me. Like shell and bone beads where once replaced by glass beads and old ledgers painted on, I use whatever material I have access to. My work ranges from traditional beaded jewelry to modern design, traditional crafts like dream catchers to watercolor on paper to painting on deer skulls. My purpose is to continue the path, the path that those who came before me paved and to bring traditional knowledge into modern time through art… to redefine what Native American art is, just by creating it.”
